WIMM? stands for “Where is my mind?” When I am starting to write out for the first time in a while this is a question I often find myself asking. I think I first heard this in the Pixie’s song and Fight Club, but when I set out for these introspective posts I always think of this. Thus, I thought I might as well just create an abbreviation for this if I am going to be using it frequently.
So, today, where is my mind? I suppose my mind is present in the current moment but also thinking a great deal about the future. My wife and I are about to have our first child sometime within the next several weeks. I am excited to be a father and I’m sure that reality will hit me like a ton of bricks once the little guy comes around.
Besides becoming a new father, my mind is really focused on being the best man that I can be. This has been a theme in my life since roughly 2010 and the pursuit has been becoming more formal. More on that later. In addition to this, I have been thinking a lot about “right action” after listening to Ryan Hoiliday on the Tim Ferris podcast. The Tim Ferriss podcast really has been a boon for critical thinking as his varied guests force me to question what I agree with and do not agree with. I just began reading The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday and it has been pretty inspiring.
Until next time,
